We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Farrell Chris Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim Farrell, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
I’d want them to know that the industry itself is littered with misconceptions about roofers driving up the cost of insurance premiums by encouraging homeowners to file claims. There are legitimate companies out there that have the very best of intentions for their customers. Although, some companies practice questionable tactics, we only make a recommendation for replacement, as a contractor, based on real, verified storm damage.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business was born from a necessity to offer what we viewed as a void or deficiency in the fundamental approach that companies were taking that we personally have worked for. We saw inconsistencies in management, in sales, and the basic approach to customer service, ensuring that our customer base would want to give us referrals as a reward for our diligence. We incorporate the customer and educate them along the way, so they are aware of the process. With these conversations comes more trust and respect and we tend to become friendly with all of customers because of this personal attention to details.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d have to start with Saint Augustine, maybe a trolley tour of the city and its rich history. I would definitely recommend a visit to the lighthouse and the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. Any of the highly-rated restaurants would be in order as well with special attention given to Columbia Restaurant, a staple of the area for 115 years. From there, we would migrate to the “most famous” beach in the world – Daytona Beach, Florida. This a must-see for any out-of-towner and its attractions and shopping and food are pivotal if you are visiting for the first time. With only an hour or so drive, we could next land in the city of Orlando – the capital of the world when it comes to amusement parks and attractions! Orlando offers an eclectic array of choices represented by so many different countries and is great for people of all ages.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We surely would not be successful without help, encouragement and education along the way. I have learned from some of the more successful people in the industry. Frank Buchanon has been a successful roofing contractor in Florida for over 30 years, and I was fortunate to work under his guidance through a few major storms. Learning the claims process and the way the estimation of restoration projects are each created, as well as the ins and outs of running a roofing company, has been a blessing. I saw what was possible and he let me learn from him and that propelled me to open my own company.
